When MSFIN set itself the goal of 1000 Christmas Food Hampers, it seemed a goal too big, almost unreachable.
Imagine how it feels to know that this year we will be gifting to our partner agencies over 1900 food hampers to distribute to vulnerable families in need this Christmas! Surreal, overwhelmed, humbled, blown away sums up how we’re all feeling.
Our incredible community took on the challenge with gusto, jumped online and registered their commitment to donate a hamper/s, then turned up to the warehouse and/or Frankston Footy Club over the past few weeks and dropped off over 700 pre assembled food hampers. That in itself is a might achievement and we thank each and every one of you.
Then the icing on the cake was being given the incredible opportunity with Christian O’Connell on his breakfast show on GOLD 104 which allowed us to pull back the curtain and shine a spotlight on MSFIN and the work we do all year round, but in particular, the hamper appeal.
Next thing we know, Melbourne has overwhelmed us with its generosity, donating $79,552 which equates to 1223 additional food hampers being delivered directly to some of our partner agencies via the wonderful team at Coles for Business who handled all the logistics on our behalf.
So what started out as a bit of a pipe dream that we could reach 1000, went next level with over 1900 food hampers being gifted in the lead up to Christmas.
All we have is two little words but boy, are they heartfelt – THANK YOU
