Working from our warehouse in Seaford, there are many ways you can volunteer and get involved as every contribution, no matter how big or small, helps make the lives of others a little bit better. MSFIN is open every weekday (except Wednesdays) from 10am to 3pm.

Available shifts are 10am-12noon, 1-3pm, or 10am-3pm.

We are looking for assistance with the following roles.

  • Cleaning and safety check of gifted items
  • Assembling orders for agency pick up
  • Volunteer Coordination
  • Admin/reception
  • Pantry stock take
  • Fundraising support

Some other ways to volunteer

Can’t volunteer at the warehouse but you’re happy for your home to be a Drop Off Point for gifted items from the community that you’d then deliver to the warehouse for sorting? This is an invaluable way to help people who want to support MSFIN but can’t get to the warehouse themselves. It’s a little like leap frogging from one suburb to the next.

Read our Q&A sheet for more info.

Do you have special skills that you want to share? Skills-based volunteering allows you to use your specialised skills and talents to help us build and sustain our capacity as a non-profit organisation, to help vulnerable families in crisis. This could be photography, videography, content curation, IT, marketing, administration, strategy development… the list is endless.

Did you know that providing a chance for your employees to give back to the community boosts engagement? It may come as a surprise, but this theory is actually backed by science. It’s all about the concept of prosocial behavior, or doing something for the benefit of someone else. Prosocial behavior positively affects the individuals participating in it, and in return, their workplaces. Corporate volunteering can provide your company with the opportunity to develop staff skills, build teams and bolster your reputation within your local community.

Work experience and volunteering are great ways to improve your workplace skills and experience, boost your resume, find out about different roles and industries, and increase your chances of getting a new job. If you’re after some hands-on work experience to kick off your career, we’d love to hear from you.

Act as if what you do makes a difference... it does!
